Tour Description : Rajasthan is the land of chivalry, royalty and luxury. Where people live and die by their word, where age honored traditions remain a part of every daily life. With their simplicity and warmth, the most enchanting aspect of this region is the people. It is also a land of many festivals celebrating the many historical events. One of the most important legend has it when Lord Brahma dropped a lotus which when it touched the ground created a sacred lake. This is believed to have taken place at Pushkar in Rajasthan where pilgrims meet every year.
The annual Pushkar Camel Fair is an experience that will make for a magical sojourn to Rajasthan. A tented city is created adjacent to Pushkar Lake during the full moon days for this fair and it is here that thousands of men and women cover the sand dunes and indulge in festivities, trade in livestock, handicrafts, participate in camel races, dances, drama, and music competitions. This is a truly dramatic event that shimmers and gleams with rich colors and vibrant life.
This 16-days tour takes us not only to the Pushkar Fair but also Rajasthan where we explore the small villages dotting the Thar Desert, on foot, car or on camel back, we are taken with the architecture of the havelis, forts, and village life.
